Why do some people get fatter than others?

get fatter

Surely you have observed that some people eat more than others and do not gain weight or that, eating the same, do not do it with the same speed or the same amount of weight. Today in our space we want to talk about the reasons why these common phenomena can occur.

1. Genetics

Genetics is one of the causes of this problem and is that the genes determine several crucial points that will be the key in our life. In addition, they also do the same to see how difficult or easy it will be for our body to gain weight.

  • At present, this is a proven fact, as experts in the human genome have managed to separate the genes that are responsible for performing, on the one hand, the distribution and, on the other, the accumulation of fat.
  • In the case of men, the FTO gene (associated with fat mass and obesity) is found in 82% of them, which means they would have a greater tendency to gain weight little as they ate.

2. Feeding

If the genetic component is essential is not less is that of food. And is that the diet that we follow is also essential when asking why we fall or rise in weight.

  • It is true that some of the genes related to weight gain cause a predisposition towards unhealthy foods.
  • Therefore we must follow some discipline and acquire healthy habits that allow us to circumvent the effects of this gene.

Keep in mind that once you start following a healthier and fresher diet, you will feel much better. Thus, it will be your own organism that asks you to eat healthier, since you will become accustomed to it.

3. The exercise

Of course, the amount of exercise we do is another key factor in maintaining a healthy weight and beyond the feeding; another aspect that can be fundamental to the hour that some people raise more or less kilos is the physical activity that they realize.

However, you should keep in mind that performing a particular sport alone will not help you lose weight. However, it can determine how much you increase. You should also keep in mind the amount of exercise each one needs is different. While there are individuals who perform two hours of the bicycle to burn 200 calories, others are only half an hour to consume this caloric intake.

Do not reward yourself with gastronomic caprices for having performed some specific exercise, because this will not be good for your health. For example, it is not recommended that, as a reward for having done enough exercise, we eat more than the account. In this way, the only thing that we will achieve will be that our effort has been in vain and, in addition, it can end up causing us to gain weight.

4. Stress and lack of sleep

Both stress and lack of sleep can be an impediment when it comes to maintaining the line. Both aspects can have a direct impact on our weight and cause an increase in weight.

Usually, when we are under the effects of stress we tend to choose unhealthy foods because we like them more and they make us feel better. However, in order not to engage in unhealthy living habits, we must avoid this.

5. Loss of intestinal biodiversity

According to different studies, alterations of intestinal microbiota are associated with diseases such as obesity or type 2 diabetes. Thus, the composition and diversity of the intestinal flora would be linked to weight gain, not so much by the number of bacteria that are lost, but by which they cease to be produced. This can also be the result of an inadequate diet or abusive use of antibiotics. The reason?

This is a change that could be responsible for people to generate up to 150 more calories a day, having eaten the same as others. Undoubtedly, this is an amount that at the end would translate into a greater tendency to gain weight.
